A fun, light journey through being different in the south, this book takes a breezy look at life, literature, civil rights issues, feminism, and class struggles in the 50s. This book may serve as a jumping off point for some, and could be very appropriate for a not-so-serious book club. The character name Bailey White was distracting to me as I'd read Bailey White's books and I figured it was a really obvious wink wink reference to the other author.
