Julie of the Wolves

Julie of the Wolves - Jean Craighead George, John Schoenherr A fascinating idea: that a girl would live with wolves rather than agree to a repulsive marriage to an unsuitable boy plays out in this book. The wolf section, in which Julie learns to live like a wolf (and, one could argue, she'd be an excellent naturalist) is easily this book's most interesting. For kids who are amateur naturalists, this book will hold up, but for others, this book may lack the fast pacing the video game generation has begun to demand.
