What Nora Knew is an amiable if predictable novel that looks at love in New York City. Set against a backdrop of skyscrapers, thin-walled apartments, and references to Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally, What Nora Knew follows nearly 40 year-old Molly during her ho-hum relationship with Russell, a chiropractor and turtle aficionado, and her infatuation with Cameron Duncan, a Richard Castle-like writer who pops up for a good banter at the most importune moments. Even if the Harry Connick, Jr. tunes have a tinny ring, and even though we all know how this is going to turn out, in Nora Ephron’s movies, it’s the journey that counts. If you’re up for a light, amusing journey this novel’s the thing. Just skip the Jujubes.
